Notes

Clarion was the birthplace, in 1907, of the 4-H Clubs' four-leaf clover emblem. U.S. Route 69, from Albert Lea, Minn., to Port Arthur, Texas, goes through Worth County. Alvina Sellers of Clarion, "Iowa's Hat Lady," was well-known for her presentations about her collection of 6,000 hats. George Reeves, famed as TV's Superman from 1952 to 1958, was born in Woolstock in 1914.
