Notes

Audubon's Missouri River expedition was in 1843. Jack Pardee, born in Exira in 1936, was head coach of the Chicago Bears, Washington Redskins, and Houston Oilers.

It was named for John James Audubon,

Who was known for his paintings of birds.

Up the Missouri he took a steamboat,

And he saw many buffalo herds.

The county seat city is Audubon.

It is best known for Albert the Bull.

The World's Largest Bull, at 45 tons,

The parts of his body are all there in full.

A famous musician from Audubon

Was C.W. McCall, who wrote Convoy.

And the coach Jack Pardee from Exira

Was a Bears of Chicago employee.

Little Kimballton's chock-full of Danes.

Just like Denmark, except a lot smaller.

There's even a L'il Mermaid statue,

Just like there in Copenhagen harbor.
