Just Adams County's smaller.

The home of young Tom Sawyer.

The courthouse square in Mount Ayr

Has cobblestones and bowling,

A library and a theater.

I wonder what they're showing!

Mount Ayr was named for Ayr,

Hometown of Robert Burns.

Scotland's favorite poet,

As every lass and laddie learns.
