The Quad Cities are Davenport and Bettendorf, Iowa, and Moline, Rock Island, and East Moline, Illinois. William "Buffalo Bill" Cody was born on a farm near Le Claire in 1846. Jazz cornetist Bix Beiderbecke, actress Sue Lyon, and NFL star Roger Craig were born in Davenport. D.D. Palmer founded the Palmer School of Chiropractic, the world's first, in Davenport in 1897.
