Amtrak's "California Zephyr" stops at Creston's 1899 depot, which also serves as City Hall. Afton was named for the Robert Burns poem "Sweet Afton." Three Mile Lake and Twelve Mile Lake are east of Creston, and Green Valley State Park is north of Creston.
