Named for General Joseph Warren (1741-75), Warren County includes part of southern Des Moines. Indianola hosts the annual National Balloon Classic. Its 1939 courthouse was demolished in 2019, and a new courthouse was built. Actor Jason Momoa grew up in Norwalk. The McCaughey septuplets are from Carlisle. Tom Harkin, U.S. senator from 1985 to 2015, was born in Cumming.
