The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino is in the 1905 downtown warehouse called the Battery Building. Pauline "Popo" Phillips and Esther "Eppie" Lederer were identical twins born on July 4, 1918, in Sioux City. As Abigail Van Buren and Ann Landers, they became famous as advice columnists.
