John J. Hardin, Illinois congressman, died in the Mexican-American War. Hugh Jackman and his family came to Iowa Falls in 2013 for the premiere of his film "Prisoners" in the renovated theater, built in 1899. Bill Riley, Iowa's "Mr. State Fair," was born in Iowa Falls in 1920.

This was named for John.

Largest town is Iowa Falls,

Named for the river that it's on.


The Metropolitan Opera House
